SOCIAL MEDIA EDITOR
This role is designed to capture the worlds of The OWN Studio and 374 Magazine and translate them into distinctive, highly engaging social content that makes our audience want to follow, save, share and participate.
You will be responsible for bringing both brands to life day-to-day: finding the stories happening inside the studio, atelier and wider cultural world around us, and turning them into social-first content.
The role combines creative ideation, content creation, editing and social instinct. You should constantly be asking: what is the story here, what is the hook, and how do we make someone care?
Content creation / Storytelling
- Ideate, shoot and edit high-quality short-form video content across 374 Magazine and The OWN Studio’s Instagram and TikTok channels.
- Create original social-first content alongside content designed to amplify 374 Magazine’s editorial output.
- Turn ideas, articles, shoots, conversations and everyday moments into compelling social stories
- Develop strong hooks, pacing, narrative and editing techniques that improve watch time, retention, saves and shares.
- Continually experiment with new formats, editing styles and platform behaviours.
Bringing the OWN world to life
Be embedded in the day-to-day world of The OWN Studio and identify opportunities to tell stories that our audience would otherwise never see.
This could include:
- Collection development and the design process.
- Craftsmanship and garments being made in the atelier.
- Fabric, fittings and construction details.
- Campaign and editorial shoot BTS.
- Customer fittings and transformations.
- Styling inspiration.
- New launches and product stories.
- The personalities and expertise within the OWN team.
- Events, collaborations and partnerships.
Amplifying 374 Magazine
- Work closely with the editorial and wider content team to ensure every strong piece of 374 editorial has an equally strong social life.
- Translate 374 articles into social-native formats
- Identify the strongest hooks, quotes, opinions, imagery and talking points within each feature.
- Create video, carousel and social concepts that encourage audiences to engage with the subject
- Create original social content around the wider themes 374 covers: fashion, weddings, relationships, beauty, lifestyle, culture and modern womanhood.
- Help establish a recognisable 374 social identity and point of view.
- Source and curate imagery for 374 articles and supporting social content where required.
- Reactive + culturally relevant content
- Have a strong awareness of what is happening across fashion, bridal, beauty, lifestyle, culture and social media
Content development + optimisation
- Review performance to understand which subjects, formats, hooks and creative approaches are resonating.
- Share learnings with the wider social, editorial and marketing teams and use them to inform future content.
- Rework and iterate successful formats rather than constantly starting from scratch.
- Identify opportunities to turn one strong idea or shoot into multiple pieces of content.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure shoots, launches, editorial moments and partnerships are fully maximised across social
STYLIST: WEDDING & EVENING WEAR
We are looking for an ambitious entrepreneurial individual to join our amazing fashion team as a stylist. You will be working from our beautiful studio in Old Street, a stone’s throw from Hoxton Square, and our atelier in Leonard Street.
Working as part of our team of stylists, you will be responsible for running bridal and evening wear appointments in our beautiful East London studio.
You will create a really special, memorable experience for each and every customer, help them choose the right pieces for them and offer styling suggestions from our accessories collections where needed.
You should have a love and flair for fashion and styling, be a natural and confident ‘people person’ and live and breathe the brand. You must have strong attention to detail, emotional intelligence and the ability to think on their feet to ensure you are giving our customers the best possible experience.
Please note, this is a full time role and takes place on Tuesday - Saturday (core hours are 9am-5.30pm). It is a sales/retail role, so please only apply if you have relevant sales experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for customer satisfaction / experience
- Leading wedding and evening wear appointments at the studio
- Following up with every customer on email and supporting them throughout their journey
- Taking customer measurements (we will provide training on this)
- Ensuring the studio and all samples are always looking their best
Requirements
- Previous experience in fashion retail sales (essential)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A background or passionate interest in fashion (essential)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in inbox management
