9 WAYS TO RESTYLE YOUR BRIDESMAID OUTFIT AFTER THE WEDDING

Whether bride or bridesmaid, wedding wear can be a big investment - yet in less than 24 hours, it's all over. Why wear it once? If you've followed us for a while you'll know how passionate we are about extending the lifecycle of bridalwear with pieces that can be worn long beyond the wedding day.  Read more about our commitment to 'Sartorial Sustainability' and why it's important here.

We had some fun at the end of last year (in between lockdowns) shooting ways to style some of our favourite pieces from our bridesmaid-meets-eveningwear collection, across our brand new colour palette. Two looks (daytime and evening), three styles, four colours. We hope this inspires you when buying your bridesmaid dresses and we'd love to hear how you restyle yours!

BURNT ORANGE // BM 008 - MIDI SLIP

This classic slip shape (BM 008) goes with pretty much anything.

Daytime ... keep your look tonal - try Uniqlo or Raey for polo necks to go underneath your slip - preferably a finer wool such as merino wool so it's not too bulky. Build your layers with a cool chunky scarf such as this one by Acne. Shoe wise make sure you choose a pair that don't cut you off at the calf - any knee high or normal shoe shape will do. We love the texture contrast of of these flat knee high patent boots by Zara.  Add a few layers of vintage gold chains and these chunky Missoma hoops and you have an effortless daytime look.

Evening ... let the colour do the talking and keep your jewels to a minimum, using delicate, barely there black heels as an accent (try Zara, By Far, Neous or Reike Nen for some minimal options.)

JET BLACK // BM 007 - EMPIRE LINE DRESS

We're obsessed with the simple, clean cut of this dress (BM 007).

Daytime ... chop the hem to ankle length and throw on a chunky boot - we styled it here with Ganni and Zara boots. Top wise, try a fine-knit black polo underneath - this one is from & Other Stories - or an oversized, chunky knit over the top. We love how you can see the cut of the dress through a looser knit top - this one is vintage Balmain but there are similar high street options.

Evening  ...  keep it simple with a pair of chunky flat sandals (we styled it with a JW Anderson inspired pair from Zara - now sold out but similar here). We love the idea of styling longer dresses with a flat shoe - super chic and minimal. There are some amazing flat and low heel shoe options on our blog here. When it comes to jewellery, this dress is so minimal you can afford to go bold - this scunchie inspired pair are by Completed Works. Ring by Laura Lombardi.

LIGHT BLUE // BM 005 - HALTER MIDI

The halter style on this dress - one of our favourite and most wearable pieces in our bridesmaid-meets-eveningwear collection - means that outwear is best kept to a minimum.

Daytime ... we styled it with a loose fitting, relaxed vintage leather jacket, Arizona Love sandals and Simone Rocha earrings.

Evening ...  swap the flats for a chic black, strappy stiletto. Planning to splurge - try Bottega Venetta. Prefer to save? Try this high street version from Office

OLIVE GREEN // BM 008 - MIDI SLIP

This luxe olive green shade - which is completely exclusive to us - is one of our favourite colours. It's such a vibrant and rich colour, it hardly needs any additional styling. It's the perfect daytime to evening wear look - all you need to do is change your heels.

Daytime... style yours with a chunky knit (such as this from Zara), New Balance 530 trainers and Missoma earrings (similar here.).

Evening ... try a cool midi shoe in gold, such as these beauties from Loeffler Randal and ramp up your gold accessories to match.
