OCTAVIA + STEVE // a gloriously chic riverside wedding

We have been so excited to receive the pictures of Octavia and Steve's wedding. From our first meeting we knew Octavia's wedding was going to be relaxed, joyful and stylish as that's exactly what she, her mother and sisters were when they came to the studio.

The couple married at St Nicolas' Church in Chiswick before punting down the Thames to Octavia's incredible family home in Hammersmith where she and her five siblings grew up. The house was decorated with wild flowers and ivy for a beautiful natural, undone aesthetic.

Octavia looked radiant in STYLE 034, her made to measure pleated halter, which she accessorised with a vintage veil - a family heirloom worn by her grandmother and mother on their wedding days. She wore her hair in a relaxed bun for the ceremony and in loose waves for the evening party.

Their friend and talented photographer @benpipeweddings captured the day perfectly, as you will see below. We hope you enjoy scrolling through these as much as we did!

"We did the flowers ourselves. Getting them from the very funny and wise Brad of New Covent Garden Market topped up with loads of wild flowers foraged by my mum, aunties and lots of her friends. My mum and I (mostly my mum) made the bouquets at 6am on the morning of the wedding and it was one of the most memorable and special parts of the day. It was a moment of calm, just the two of us, and I think my mum did the most incredible job!" - Octavia

"The food was provided by Grace and Skye an amazing catering duo. The food they made was delicious and beautiful. It was a seasonal, Italian, vegetarian feast and Grace and Skye let us feel like we were designing the menu and by extension the whole day with them, which is exactly what we wanted. We didn’t want a traditional wedding and our venue was a private house which must have made catering it that much more difficult. They answered all our questions as well as thinking about and solving problems we hadn’t even thought of.

"The bridesmaid dresses were made by Mipa Atelier, a lovely lady who has a tiny studio in Richmond and managed to make the ‘bond style dresses’ that my sister’s wanted look elegant and wedding appropriate." - Octavia

"Our puddings were crowd-sourced by friends and family, we made the wedding cake – a five tiered carrot cake, and we sourced a five tier cheese stack from Harvey & Brockless to go with it.

"We couldn’t have done it without our family and friends. Our friend Milli taught us a silly first dance to Together by the Turtles and then her band the Golightly’s and played the most amazing set, and friends played bagpipes and steel drums too! Not all at the same time luckily…" - Octavia
