JESS + ALEX // a Spanish fiesta
OWN Co-founder Jess got married in a magical Spanish setting to her husband (and top chef) Alex back in 2015. It was this wedding the inspired some of our very first designs. Read on to hear more about Jess' anti-traditional day...
We had always wanted to get married abroad. Everyone is so relaxed and happy to be away and the weather is usually guaranteed – it was really important to us both that it was sunny on our wedding day! We have always had the best times at weddings abroad and so it was number one on our agenda. We love Spain and between us have been there on holiday many times. As soon as we stumbled upon Casa La Siesta we knew it was perfect. It’s got all the luxuries of a modern hotel but the rustic charm of an old finca. It really is the most beautiful setting and the interiors are fabulous.

The morning of the wedding I hadn't planned anything to get ready in and my now husband, Alex, had left a white shirt over a chair. I threw it on for the morning, it was loose and relaxed and felt very 'me' over a traditional dressing gown. This is where the inspiration for our oversized monogrammed shirts came from.
I wore STYLE 008 - our luxe crepe backed satin champagne gown which was glamorous, lightweight and comfortable. The white bridal look was not for me - I felt a lot more myself in a gold gown. I put my bridesmaids in white, which made a beautiful contrast with my dress.
