THE BRIDAL TRENDS YOU NEED TO KNOW

Ready to find your bridal aesthetic? OWN Co-founders and designers Jess and Rosie break down the hottest trends in bridal this season.

CORSETRY

Corsetry is a trend that has been raging for a while and shows no sign of abating for 2025. The lower the better when it comes to the neckline too as brides love that ‘spilling’ look. Where it used to be about internal construction, now the trend is really leaning towards corsets being worn as outerwear which appeals to brides who want to change up look throughout the day; with a more ethereal organza or chiffon skirt for the ceremony and a change up into a sheer lace skirt for the evening.  Ruching is a beautiful way to bring softness to a corset too, we adore STYLE 126 for its super chic bodice which flatters the décolletage so beautifully.

SLEEK

Soft, fluid fabrics and silken silhouettes are a signature for us, however silk dresses are definitely rising in popularity for that all important second look as the movement creates an incredible dancing moment. When it comes to sleek silhouettes it truly is all about an impeccable cut and fabric. We are proud to work with some of the oldest and most prestigious fabric houses in the world, with most still small family run businesses based in France and Italy who have been supplying royalty and couture fashion houses for decades (and in some cases centuries)

BIG IS BACK

Big is back, but not in the old-school meringue way. This year it’s all about sculptural and dramatic silhouettes that are fashion-led and fresh. Drop waists are firmly in, as well as more voluminous skirts. Structured fabrics are always studio favourites as they are glamorous and comfortable at the same time. We love styling structured fabrics like brocade, mikado and duchesse satin with softer accents like chiffon, organza, lace and tulle and when opting for voluminous gowns we love a closed toe pointed court to balance the look.

BALLET CORE

Soft balletic details like bows, bubble hems and chiffon scarves are beautiful accents as brides embrace an old 1950s Hollywood / archival Balenciaga aesthetic that’s as chic as it is playful. OWN brides love bringing a more structured twist to the look through a mikado or duchesse fabric which perfectly balances the softness of the silhouette.

SHEER

Sheer looks are super hot for 2025 - lace, organza, tulle and chiffon are having a real moment. Lace is also super popular as brides love to use it in a contemporary way to create a dramatic yet demure look. It’s less about traditional lace applique and more about using it as a sheer cover up. Sheer skirts look amazing when paired with a corset and dramatic veil.

OLD WORLD AESTHETIC

The ‘old world’ aesthetic with chic structured column silhouettes is a big look for 2025. Detachable trains and cathedral length veils look amazing when styled with gowns to create an even grander, more impactful silhouette. The best thing about detachable trains is they’re a super easy way to transform the look from day to night without having to change, which appeals to brides who don't want to take off their main gown for the evening.
