EDITION 006 IS HERE

INTRODUCING EDITION 006 - A BRAND NEW 26 PIECE COLLECTION YEARS IN THE MAKING.
OUR BIGGEST, BOLDEST AND MOST 'SARTORIALLY SUSTAINABLE' COLLECTION TO DATE.

STYLE 057 // SILK SATIN BUSTIER £950, STYLE 061 // SILK SATIN OVERLAY £350

Taking inspiration from the nature of self-expression, this collection celebrates individuality through versatile layering and innovative transitions between day and night.

The hero of the collection is undoubtedly our “Build Your OWN Look” concept. For many years we’ve been obsessed with the idea of deconstructed dressing as we loved the idea of one look taking you through from day to night, simply with some clever layering.

Over the years this idea developed in tandem with the growing popularity of the wedding wardrobe. We love the idea of changing into many different outfits across the wedding weekend but we wanted to find a way to do it more sustainably. So many brides say to us, “I love the idea of changing, but I don’t want to take my ceremony outfit off - I’ve waited all year to wear it!”

With this concept you can now have an infinite number of outfit switch ups, all while keeping the essence of your first outfit. And most importantly, there’s the added benefit of being able to rewear every piece long after the wedding day - not just from a design point of view, but each of the pieces can even be dyed (read more about that here).

And of course, because our core collection is made to measure, customers will be able to request bespoke sleeves, overlay styles, tops/skirts in a huge variety of fabric options, leading to even more personalised ways to style these looks. SHOP BUILD YOUR LOOK

In this edition we’ve also found other ways to redefine traditional bridal silhouettes. Big, voluminous shapes are flipped on their head with the introduction of chic drop waistlines and modern necklines; creating an incredible fusion of classic and modern. These fitted styles with subtle seam details and structured boning are big statements; yet somehow the modern detailing lends them an air of relaxed nonchalance, which makes them all the more contemporary and chic. EDITION 006 was shot on location at Marqi Hotel in Lisbon - a 1930’s mansion turned boutique hotel ‘secluded on a curvy road by the foot of the fairytale-like Sintra mountains’.

Founded by Danish photographer and former fashion brand owner Mikkel Kristensen, we loved Marqi for its unique mix of mid century design and rustic Portuguese architecture, along with its exotic hillside garden and collection of classic cars (airport pick up in a vintage Mercedes? Yes please….) marqi.holiday

EDITION 006 is all about celebrating the individual, and this was very much reflected in our styling direction. We wanted to juxtapose some of the softer and more romantic design details in the clothes with heavier jewelry pieces to create a really unique and distinctive look.

For the first time we have used lots of silver, along with mixing gold and silver together. Chunky chains, asymmetrical earrings and cool-girl clutches and sunglasses were all included in our styling mood boards.  We kept shoes strappy and minimal, with an amazing selection from Jimmy Choo and vintage Gucci from the pre-loved collection we have in the studio.

B E A U T Y

As we were shooting in the beautiful Lisbon sun, we wanted to emulate that warm, summer glow, as if they had just been relaxing by the pool all day. Makeup artist Louisa Copperwaite gives us her insider tips on creating the looks she created on set:

‘Any good makeup starts with great skin. Well hydrated, fresh glowing skin is the perfect canvas for whatever look you go for on the day.’ Louisa uses the QMS Day Collagen Serum to help hydrate and protect the skin throughout the day as well as The Eye Cream from Augustus Bader which de-puffs the undereyes and provides a beautiful glow.

For foundation, Louisa used the famous NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and Soft Matte Complete Concealer for a smooth, sheer skin finish on both girls. To add that extra glow, she recommends the Hourglass Flash Highlighter Stick and Glossier’s Cloud Paint blush, setting with the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. A quick lick of L'Oréal Paris Unlimited Waterproof Mascara and clear brow gel and Louisa had created the minimalist glowy no makeup-makeup look!

As for hair, Louisa’s tips for a slicked back bun starts with a nourishing hair oil such as the Gold Dust Hair Oil which is restorative and will give damaged locks some love. She then goes in with Bumble and Bumble’s Sumogel to defrizz and pull back the hair into a bun while using the Larry King Flyaway Kit throughout the day to manage stray hairs and touch ups.

On Tanya, Louisa created a dreamy undone hairstyle using Hair by Sam Knight Barely There Texture Mist to add some volume and create that beachy texture that could only be the result of salt water and sunshine…A quick spritz of Bumble and Bumble’s Spray de Mode hairspray to emulate that lived in look and voilà, the polished but seemingly undone hairstyle.
