HOW TO WIN AT THE SLIP DRESS

We’ll admit - we have an unhealthy obsession with slip dresses. As children of the 90s, that single image of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy at her wedding, radiant in gorgeous Narcisco Rodrigeuz, or Kate Moss nearly naked in that iconic shimmering gold slip, stayed with us for years to come (and ultimately influenced our own wedding dress choices - both of us got married in slip dresses - one gold, one white!)

I think the reason we’re obsessed has something to do with the transformative power of the slip. On the peg, it doesn’t look hugely interesting. Yet when it slips on, the bias cut moves with the contours of the body, in such a subtly sexy way, making it almost like a second skin. It’s an effortless, understated aesthetic.

Having worn a million and one slips in our lifetime, we know just how important it is to get the fabric exactly right. When it came to designing our collection we spent hundreds of hours hunting for fabrics with the right amount of weight and drape that would flatter all shapes and sizes. Our made to measure bias cut slip dresses for brides are crafted from buttery crepe and liquid silk satin, which look understated yet completely show-stopping at the same time. For bridesmaids, chic crepe-backed satin midi and full length slips are made in a rainbow of colours, with matching scrunchies. The fabric has an amazing weight to it which means it skims the body and falls  (no clingy, static slips here, thanks!)

We’ve spoken before about how we want to break the cycle that befalls most bridal wear; wear once, and never again. We believe one of the best things about a slip dress is its versatility - it is genuinely a dress for all seasons. Here are some of our ideas on how to re-style your slip long after your wedding.
